Environmental Services

The Environmental Department provides a variety of programs and services in an effort to help the health of the general public.

Under state mandates (KRS & KAR), the health environmentalists conduct routine inspections on all permitted establishments and investigate complaints on various types of public health nuisances. Also, the health department conducts training on food safety, public swimming pool maintenance, and on-site sewage installation.  Food safety and educational materials are available in English, Spanish, and Chinese. In addition, the Health Department sponsors an annual rabies clinic each May with the help of area veterinarians.  Listed below are some of the many services provided by the Health Department.
